Cats and water don’t usually mix, at least according to the stereotype. Jaguars quietly ignore that stereotype. Once you understand the mechanics, the jaguar stops looking like a slightly odd cousin of the lion or tiger and starts looking like a specialist that solved a completely different problem. Most big cats optimize for chasing down fast, exposed prey on open ground.
